About Us

At Wholeness Counseling, we believe that true well-being is achieved through the integration of all aspects of our lives

Health is more than the absence of illness — it’s the presence of wholeness in body, soul and spirit. Rooted in a Christian perspective, our counseling services are designed to support your mental, emotional, and spiritual growth. By thoughtfully integrating insights from psychological research with Christian Scripture, we help individuals move toward a deeper, more meaningful experience of healing and wholeness.

We’re Astrid and Anthony, the husband-and-wife team behind Wholeness Counseling. We founded this practice out of a shared desire to honor God with our lives and to walk alongside others in their journeys. Our story began in seminary, where we met and grew together through both seasons of beauty and seasons of hardship. Those experiences, along with our training, have deepened our passion for helping others find hope and healing.

We believe that God meets us in the very middle of our struggles. While suffering rarely comes with easy answers, we hold onto the truth that Jesus entered into our world and embraced suffering with us. Because of that, we can be confident that God is never distant from those who hurt.

At Wholeness Counseling, our heart is to offer a safe, compassionate space where you are not alone—where you can grow in wholeness and draw closer to the God who sees and loves you.

Meet Anthony

My name is Anthony Rando, and I hold a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a Master’s in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. My journey into counseling began years ago while serving with Youth With A Mission’s (YWAM) counseling school in Brazil. As I traveled with missionaries in Brazil, Italy, and Portugal, I witnessed God bring deep healing into people’s lives—and through that experience, He also brought healing into my own life through counseling. Those moments shaped my calling to walk with others in their own journeys of restoration.

At Gordon-Conwell, my studies centered on mentoring, discipleship, and counseling, which laid a strong foundation for the work I do today. Since then, I’ve served at Justice Resource Institute (JRI), where I’ve had the privilege of working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Each story has affirmed my desire to be a helper—someone who offers support, encouragement, and a safe space for growth as we journey together with God.

I’m grateful to share life and this calling with my wife, Astrid, who is pursuing training as both a therapist and a spiritual director. It would be an honor to walk alongside you in your own story—feel free to reach out if you’d like to see if we might be a good fit.

Our Approach

Whole Person Oriented

The focus is not just decreasing symptoms, but on finding wholeness or health in body, soul, and spirit.

Evidence-Based Practices

We are committed to using approaches that are grounded in research and proven to be effective. The American Psychological Association (APA) has identified and evaluated evidence-based practices—therapeutic methods supported by research for their effectiveness in real-life settings. We align our work with these guidelines and draw from the broader body of psychological literature to ensure that the care we provide is both compassionate and evidence-based.

Collaboration

In our culture, it’s easy to believe the lie that we’re meant to be completely “self-sufficient.” At Wholeness Counseling, we believe true growth happens in community and through connection. That’s why we value collaboration—whether it’s leaning on trusted resources, working alongside local churches and pastors, or partnering with other organizations that can support your needs. Together, we can create a network of care that helps you move toward wholeness and lasting wellness.

Christian Foundation

At Wholeness Counseling, our work is shaped by the hope and wisdom we find in the Christian Scriptures. For clients who desire it, we are glad to integrate faith into the therapeutic process through the use of prayer, Scripture, and spiritual practices—seeking wholeness in both mind and spirit. At the same time, we deeply respect each person’s unique background and beliefs. If you are not a Christian or prefer not to include faith in your counseling, we will meet you where you are and walk with you in a way that feels supportive and honoring to your journey.

Our Values

We believe in doing our work with honesty, accountability, and excellence. Guided by our faith and the ethical standards of the American Counseling Association, we are committed to serving clients with integrity in every interaction.

Hope is a powerful force in the healing process. No matter your circumstances, we believe that change is possible and that there is always a way forward.

Therapy should be a place where you feel seen, respected, and cared for. While growth may sometimes feel uncomfortable, we are committed to creating a safe environment where you can process and heal without fear of judgment.

Love is at the center of our work. We seek to care for each client with compassion and respect, while also encouraging a life of love toward God, self, and others.

Wisdom

We believe that healing involves not just understanding but also making wise choices that lead to growth. Our goal is to help clients discover practical steps toward living with greater clarity, purpose, and wisdom.
